Wheel mill is an important equipment in briquetting process. The main functions of the wheel mill are as follow
- Mix the materials well-distributed with the binder
- Crush some big materials into tiny particles
- Reduce the gaps between the particle materials, remove more air and help to make better briquette
Working principle
When the material is fed in the wheel mixer, it starts to work. The material is fed into the middle part of the grinding plate and rolled under the thrust of the scraper or its own centrifugal force. After several times of rolling, the size of the required particles leaked from the mesh around the grinding plate, and the coarse particles returned to the roll for re-rolling. The wheel mixer is suitable for crushing materials with medium hardness, such as silica and clay, or for mixing materials.

Compare to another common mixer — double shaft mixer in the briquette line, the wheel mill is a kind of mixer which cannot continuously work though it’s working theory. Thus, in order to make our briquette line more automatic, we usually set more than one wheel mill to solve the problem.
